Born in Mexico. I've always been interested in music, specially Latinamerican music and folklore. Whilst living in Paris in 1983 surrounded by an argentinian community, I started listening to tango, with special interest on lyrics, lunfardo and literature. But it was until 2004 when I discovered a passion for dancing tango, and I set about taking classes, working with milonga organisers and DJ's, accommodating visiting teachers from Argentina, organising workshops for them, translating tango classes or conferences about tango History, orchestras and composers.
In 2007, I started DJing in Paris milongas. And in 2008, after organising a Tango show with orchestra and professional tango dancers in Montmorency, I opened a tango school with my partners from this Paris north outskirt.
In 2010, I was transformed by my first month studing tango with Maestros and DJ's in Buenos Aires. My music repertory doubled. I had a chance to DJ in "La Baldosa". And dancing in milongas like "Sin Rumbo" or "Sunderland" I realized that the Salon tango style and the music from the Golden Age (1935-1955 to me) was what I love the most.
In 2011, the school moved to Enghien-les-Bains (10 minutes from Paris, Gare du Nord). And in 2014 we had to move again to Croissy-sur-Montmorency, where we promoted tango culture until 2017, always taking care to pass on not only the dance but also the musical knowledge, history, codes, elegance and good circulation of the dance floor.
Nowadays, I continue teaching and studing tango in Paris. I take a weekly class with my chosen teachers (Andrea Reyeiro y Sebastian Missé, amoung others of my favorits argentinian Maestros passing by Paris or teaching in cities and Festivals arround the world. My goal is to live and develop my tango to the highest quality, and transmit it always with an inmense respect for Tango as Argentinian cultural heritage.
